This classic Filipino dish will be a great addition to your arsenal of dishes and impress your friends!
RBK Chicken Adobo
- 500-750 grams chicken thighs or any cut you like
- 1 bottle RoniB's Kitchen Adobo Sauce
- 1 cup water
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed optional
Place a pan on medium heat. Add about 2 tablespoons of oil.
Optional: Add a few gloves of crushed garlic for a more garlicky taste
When the oil is hot, add your choice of meats. Shallow fry until golden brown.
Pour the contents of 1 bottle of RoniB's Kitchen Adobo Sauce.
Add half a cup (if using chicken) to a cup (if using pork) of water. Cover and increase heat to medium-high until the mixture starts to boil.
Lower heat to medium and let simmer for about 45 minutes to an hour.
Remove cover in the last 15 minutes of cooking to help reduce the sauce.
- Take out the meats from the pan and set aside.
- Increase heat and reduce the sauce to half or desired sauce
consistency. Return the meats to the pan and toss. Serve
Serve with steamed or boiled rice, slices of fresh tomatoes
This works best for chicken. Using a fork, pull chicken into shreds and deep fry until crispy. Serve with fried rice, fried egg, fresh tomatoes. Perfect for breakfast!
Best eaten the next day to let the flavours mature and harmonise.
